ABOUT THE PROJECT

Most of us grew up knowing that the southern peak of Kebnekaise was the highest summit in Sweden. And most of us thought that would never change. Unfortunately, it did. The southern peak has decreased over 20 (!) meters in the last two decades due to global warming – meaning it’s no longer the highest summit in Sweden. For my graduation project at Forsbergs skola, I tried to communicate this in an accessible way. Because it’s not just a scientific issue: it’s a devastating symbol of how climate change is affecting nature as we know it.
The result? Peak Perspective by Peak Performance.

To engage people at the exhibition, I symbolized the glacier loss with a 20-meter-long fabric. It worked as an interactive way for both children and adults to get a perspective on the problem.
